Well, it's done and I'm not gonna moan about it...

even though it has it's problem areas, I'm pretty happy with it. It's the first image I've done from start to finish in over two years, would have finished it sooner, but developed eyestrain midweek due to solidly playtesting our current Nintendo DS game over the week, so I tried to take it easy in the evening. I quite fancy recoloring it in a more cel shaded, less rendered style, may or may not do it later in the week as I quite fancy having a bash at an actual digital painting too.

Gah!

Finished off the inking after watching the final Veronica Mars *sob*. As usual I'm not particularly happy with the result, but i'm yet to find something i'm really comfortable with to use for inking. Consequently this was inked with a dip pen (Hunt 102 and 104), brush, fibre tip, Rotring technical and art pens. I'm beginning to get more comfortable with the dip pen and brush, but i need lots more practice, so basically I'm still finding my feet. Next up, colour! Ooh!

Lazy Bugger.

After a weekend spent solely watching Veronica Mars series 3 and the most tepid and lethargic perfomance by a Manchester United side EVER in a derby, I somehow managed to find the time to squeeze these two drawings out, first one is a warm up, second is a hopefully better version of the dreadful cowboy image i uploaded last week. I'm currently 'inking' (or ruining, depending on your point of view) the second image and will upload that tomorrow. Will the forty quid I spent on pens (Rotring Art Pens E and EF! And some terrible Staedtler pens I will never use again...)in Fred Aldous be worth it? I'd imagine not...

Fascinating fact of the day: This will only ever be updated in the week due to not having the internet at home. Woah.

Righto! I'm aware that this is rubbish....

and that there's a million things wrong with it, but it's a warmup piece i did last night whilst watching a western for research for a pin up i'm actually doing. As that is mostly biro doodles for now, I'm putting this up anyway. I'm particularly embarrassed by the arms...I may do a 'proper' illustration at the weekend, just to show i'm not entirely lame...
